Elections Upcoming

The fall elections in the UDS are scheduled to take place around the 20th of this month, and will replace the entirety of the Council of State, elect the 7th Prime Minister, and replace the rest of the government.

New changes due to the new constitution include the addition of a Councillor, the addition of a Chair for the General Assembly, and the removal of the direct election for the Speakership, a move criticized by several members of the opposition.

The elections will end on 20 September with the Union Post hosting a debate on Saturday, 16 September and the Union Times’ Alina Caesar and Glen Fields hosting a quasi-town hall before September 20th.
